Hearing aids vary a great deal in price, size, special features and the way they’re placed in your ear. The following are common hearing aid styles.

Tinnitus Masker

Tinnitus masking cannot reduce or eliminate tinnitus, only reduce awareness of it. The efficacy of a tinnitus masker may depend on the wearer’s capacity to experience residual inhibition, the temporary suppression of tinnitus in response to particular sound patterns.

CROS & BICROS hearing Aids

The difference between CROS and BiCROS hearing aids is that the CROS system is designed for people who have no hearing in one ear and close to perfect hearing in the other ear; the BiCROS system is designed for people who have total hearing loss in one ear and moderate hearing loss in the other ear.

Single sided hearing

Our brains need equal sound from both ears to localize where sounds are coming from. If any of this sounds familiar, you may find your physician diagnosing you with single-sided deafness (SSD). There is no cure for SSD, but don’t lose hope – there are ways you can treat it so you can hear again on your deaf side.
